FINALLY! A competent, friendly and centrally located alterations expert in the Five Cities!! Nina Taylor (fittingly named, if you ask me!) is a fantastic asset to our community, having opened her cute and cozy shop in 2010. The Sewing Atelier can be found at the gateway to the Historic Village of Arroyo Grande, handily located across from Alphy's Broiler (drop off a frock for repair and grab a sandwich or salad too!), and open by appointment.

I found Nina when I happened to notice signs in her windows proclaiming that a seamstress was moving into the space! I said a little prayer and ran home to find the pile of items that my in-house seamstress (read mom) had proclaimed too difficult for her skill level. From day one, when I brought Nina a specialty pair of jeans that fit perfectly except for the super-model length on my decidedly non-super-model frame, I was so thankful for her addition to our little community.

Since then, Nina has repaired faulty zippers on my husband's favorite fleece, rearranged buttons and button holes on a pair of pants that looked great with a certain jacket and replaced numerous buttons on my favorite Calvin Klein skirt.

Thank you, Nina, for doubling my wardrobe with your skills. If not for you I would have a pile of "favorites" in a bag, awaiting the day when they get donated to the second-hand store because they are now out of style and still don't have a zipper.
