Michael Boyer has been a leader in operations, technology, and marketing for 30 years. Michael currently serves as the President & CEO of the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce, CEO of the Santa Maria Valley Community Foundation, Board Chair for Epic Entertainment, and a family real estate business, Pismo Beach Homes. Prior to the Chamber, Michael was the Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Mid Central Coast leading the organization to over 100% growth over 3 years. Prior to BGC, Michael served as Chief Operating Officer and Board Director for Digital West Networks, where they were recognized as one of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the U.S. by Inc. Magazine.
Michael has led many merger and acquisition strategies. In 2021, Michael led the merger of Stand Strong and Rise as the Chair of the Board of Stand Strong, merging both SLO County organizations focused on fighting sexual assault and intimate partner violence. In 2017, Norcast Networks, Inc. was acquired by Digital West while he served as COO. In 2015, Digital West acquired AdSmart, Inc., as Michael served as the CEO of AdSmart. Prior to that in 2013, Michael served as COO of ElementsLocal, Inc. which was acquired by Bridgeline Digital, Inc., a public company in Boston. Throughout his career, he has worked with some of the largest brands in the world on digital brand strategy, design, and engagement. These companies include Apple, HP, Quiksilver, Roxy, Oakley, Samsung, Blackberry, Marvell, Linear Tech, Tennis Channel, UPS, Sport Clips, Paul Davis, California Closets, Jiffy Lube, Maaco, Weed Man, Home Helpers, and many others.
Michael has been committed to the community through many local nonprofit boards over the years, including Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation, SLO Chamber, Leadership SLO, CA Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs, SLO YMCA, SLO Big Brothers Big Sisters, St. Patrick School Board, South County Chambers, the Rotary Club of Pismo Beach, the Exploration Station, and the Clark Center Foundation. He currently serves the following organizations: Cuesta College Foundation Board as director, Cal Poly Local Economic Development Committee as member, Lumina Alliance as governance committee chair & audit committee chair, Rotary International as past Rotary Coordinator Zone 26, Rotary District 5240 as interact chair, Santa Maria Chamber of Commerce as Secretary & Treasurer, REACH Uplift steering committee as member, Allan Hancock College Foundation as director, Santa Maria Police Council as director, and the Diversity Coalition San Luis Obispo County as founding director.
He received both the "Top 40 Under 40" award from the Pacific Coast Business Times and the "Top 20 Under 40" award from the Tribune for his professional excellence and profound commitment to the community.
As a self-described “jack of all trades,” Michael loves getting his hands dirty in many different things, from home remodeling projects to jogging a “half” with his wife. He also enjoys Saturday morning business discussions with friends and adventurous hikes in Alaska’s Talkeetna Mountains.
